Rights-Based Advocacy Training (RBA)

Rights-based Advocacy (RBA) training at Nepalgunj on 27-29 December 2020. 34 Badi representatives attended the training from different networks of Badi community of 8 districts. The participants are affiliated in the different Badi- based networks like Badi women network, local advocacy group, National Badi network and National Badi Youth Network. Participants learned more about rights-based advocacy like, advocacy tools, Processes, issues and areas of Advocacy of Badi community. Similarly, they learned fundamental rights mentioned by the Nepal constitution 2015, legal provision different policies, laws & Media advocacy, budget plan and process of different level Governments.

Workshop For Local Level Networks

Community Empowerment and Transformation (COMMIT) Nepal was held local level network workshop at Rajapur and Barbardiya Municipality in Bardiya. There were sharing, talking and discussion in different topics regarding Badi community’s genuine issues and Governmental provision on Public services and land with public housing in the workshop. 45 Badi local leaders from local advocacy group,Women Networks and Women Self-help Group (WSHG). According to their sharing, they learnt and felt a more about their genuine issues, Governmental provision for Marginalized community and different social and development programs of Local Government. Similarly, They learnt about governmental law, policies, planning and implementation. Finally, they have prepared memorandum (Demand) letter regarding Badi issuses to handover to local Government for doing advocacy/lobby with local Level Governments
