Bag Making training and enterpreurnership Establishment
COMMIT Nepal had organized 6 months bag making training for 4 vulnerable Badi Girls in 2018. They have completed 6 months training successfully. Now, they are able to handle the machine properly, they can cut materials as per design, sewing bag and making different types of bags. As there sharing, they are encouraged and happy to be involving in bag making training. As per our planning and strategy to develop bag making enterpreurnership that COMMIT Nepal has established Bag factory named Karuna Bag factory and just registered in local Government as governmental rule and regulation of local Government. Now, this Karuna Bag factory is legally established as bag making enterpreurnership. Now, they produce different types of school/college bags and ladies bags. Similarly, COMIT Nepal is trying to mange local fund for required raw and sewing materials to continue produce and selling the bags for its continue work and sustainability with their self reliance.

Sewing and cutting Training
Five14 with Mission team visited and distributed the water filter on last October 2016. When they visited our beneficiary of GFG in Badi community, they met and talked a Badi girl named Sudha Nepali (Badi) who was very vulnerable and living in difficult situation. She shared her interest to take sewing and cutting training with team. Then they talked with five14 team and decided to support her for 6 months training. She has taken and completed sewing and cutting training by the support of Five14. She got sewing machine, sewing set, clothes and monthly training fee from Five14 through COMMIT Nepal. As her sharing, she is happy and makes different types of ladies suits and dresses. When we meet her, she shares about her future planning to establish the tailoring shop in the local market to be self reliance in her community. She also requested us for praying about her plan. We have also felt if we support her to establish tailoring shop, she will be self dependent and it would be a model work among the Badi community.

Follow up the Tailoring shop and Bag making Enterpreurnership
4 Badi girls had taken sewing and cutting training then opened the tailoring shop in 2017 by the support of COM Switzerland. They have been holding the tailoring shop in local market and doing well in the shop. It showed that they were becoming self reliance through by this sewing and cutting profession but unfortunately, Lock down was stated on 24th March then closed the tailoring shop. Now we have encouraged them to restart the tailoring shop and they are thinking to reopen the tailoring shop.

It was been registered the bag making factory named Karuna Bag Factory. 4 vulnerable Badi girls have been working in the bag factory until March 23rd 2020. They made different type of bag and sold in local Market and getting income but unfortunately Lock down was started because of COVID-19 global crisis then closed the enterpreurnership. Beneficiary girls are in their home and some of them are their relative’s home. We are encouraging them to work though raw materials are scarcity in the market.
