Under the karuna Project.
a. Bag Making training and enterpreurnership Establishment
COMMIT Nepal had organized 6 months bag making training for 4 vulnerable Badi Girls in 2018. They have completed 6 months training successfully. Now, they are able to handle the machine properly, they can cut materials as per design, sewing bag and making different types of bags. As there sharing, they are encouraged and happy to be involving in bag making training. As per our planning and strategy to develop bag making enterpreurnership that COMMIT Nepal has established Bag factory named Karuna Bag factory and just registered in local Government as governmental rule and regulation of local Government. Now, this Karuna Bag factory is legally established as bag making enterpreurnership. Now, they produce different types of school/college bags and ladies bags. Similarly, COMIT Nepal is trying to mange local fund for required raw and sewing materials to continue produce and selling the bags for its continue work and sustainability with their self reliance.

b. Education Scholarship Support for Badi girls
COMMIT Nepal has been supporting education support for vulnerable Badi girls since 2017 by the support of COM Switzerland. In the beginning, we supported 25 Badi girls for their education in the year of 2017. As per need and planning COMMIT Nepal has extended and supporting 40 vulnerable Badi girls in 2018. COMMIT Nepal has continued 25 previous girls and selected other new 15 vulnerable girls as each girl each family process from Nepalgunj and Kohalpur municipality in 2018. As our planning, we have been supporting education support them since January. Beneficiary Badi girls are getting admission fee, school uniforms, school shoes, school bags, and text books half-yearly/annually, tuition fee and educational stationeries every month. Under this activity, all beneficiary girls passed their respected class with good marks. 2 girls have passed SEE (Secondary education Examination) with successfully. A girl has got scholarship to study higher secondary education in Kathmandu by a private school and accommodation by an organization. Other a girl is studying 11 (Higher secondary education) standards in Nepalgunj. COMMIT Nepal’s educational support supervisor visits girls and mother every month. Similarly, he visits their respective school and teachers to evaluate their education and paying monthly fee. Under this activity, we have created educational awareness to mother for quality education. Beneficiary Mothers visit every month in our women self help group’s meeting and talk about their daughter’s education and progress. As their sharing, Badi community people are encouraged to continue their daughter’s education for better future and respective life. Likewise, we visit beneficiary Mothers every month and talking about their daughter’s education and progress. As their sharing, they are awaked and encouraged to continue their daughter’s education. Through our regular care and support more numbers of Badi vulnerable girls are going to school regularly.

c. Tailoring shop promoting and follow up
After their training, 4 Badi girls had opened the tailoring shop in 2017 by the support of COM Switzerland. 4 Badi women/girls have been holding the tailoring shop in local market since February 2017. We visit and encourage them to be self reliance through our monitoring and evaluation regularly. Now, they are sewing different types of clothes of clients’ and raising skills to make different types of dresses. As per their sharing, they will be working independently without facilitator from January 2019 and taking responsibility their self independently.
